School Centenary

The Godalming Junior School building was officially opened on December 11th 1907 as "Godalming Council School".

Governance

Governors have a responsibility to promote high standards of educational achievement.
We work in partnership with the head teacher & staff to achieve this,  offering both support and challenge

We are a voluntary group of 16 people: parents; staff and members of the local community. Serving from 1-4 years, during such time will take on particular areas of responsibility.

  • Curriculum - oversight
  • Financial & Performance Monitoring
  • Strategic Planning - objectives & targets
  • Effective Policies for all areas of school life
  • School Improvement Planning
  • Staff appointments

Governors can be:

  • Parents - elected by other parents at the school
  • Staff (incl. Head Teacher)
  • Community - appointed by governing body
  • One or more LEA appointed governors
